Glacier National Park Engagement Shoot

Nate and I had our engagement shoot last July (2018) right after he proposed. (check out that post here) But so much has changed and happened since then! When our wedding photographer asked if we wanted another engagement shoot we jumped on it. And living 40 minutes from Glacier, it was a no brainer that we wanted our photos taken there

It was incredibly difficult for me to pick out my favorites for this post, I legit loved every single photo Jaci took! She is magical, my friends. She captured exactly what I felt in each shot and made us laugh and feel comfortable and helped direct us. Best photographer I have ever worked with!

Jaci specializes in elopements and shoots in the park, so if you are thinking of eloping to GNP, she is your girl! Hiring her to capture our wedding day was the best decision we could have made.

Big Bend

I am getting married in FOURTEEN days ! How did that even happen? I feel like we just got engaged. Since moving to Montana from Denver, our life has been hectic, stressful, and also beautiful. We are trying to settle into our new house and town, work to save for this wedding, get the house prepared for having our wedding in our yard (and hosting 10 people here the week before the wedding!), fixing up the yard with what we already have, and me trying to plan every little detail, of course.

As exhausted and stressed as I have been this Summer, I am just so excited to have this celebration of our love. Nathan and I want to see our closest friends and family out here, all together under one roof (or tent, rather) and drink and eat and laugh and dance until we drop. Traveling to Whitefish, Montana is not easy or cheap, so we hope everyone traveling out here has an absolute blast and knows how much we appreciate their support.

The best photographers bring beer!
I made a quick market wrap at work for the shoot. (I work at a local floral shop that is pretty fricken sweet. Follow them on Insta! Mum’s Floral )

Our love story is my absolute favorite.

Lunch Creek

Our plan to splash around the creek was a fail but the photos here still turned out gorgeously ! The water was FREEZING and the slick rocks made me fall all over the place. We had two mountain goats scare us half to death when they came up behind us as we were shooting. The bear grass here is breathtaking. If you don’t know what bear grass is, it’s a common wildflower found in Glacier National Park and this year has produced prolific blossoms, especially on the west-side of the park.

Sun Point

The views here were just breathtaking! I didn’t want to ever leave. We didn’t see a single person here and it felt like it was just Nate and I on top of the world.

Give me ALL the wildflowers!

The cool kids in the street haha!

8 years, 6 moves, 3 states, and 1 kiddo later… we are finally tying the knot. I am so excited to marry the man of my dreams and be a Barnett!

A HUGE thank you to Jaci Vigil for taking these epic shots of us and spending several hours exploring the park. Go follow her on Instagram, you won’t regret it! https://www.instagram.com/j.vigilphoto/

Oh my gosh! These are STUNNING! Sadly, our engagement photos were an absolute wreck when we got them! Despite being highly recommended, the photos weren’t anything like the rest of the portfolio and I only had one halfway decent one for announcements. Luckily we had time to change photographers 4 weeks beforehand (when I asked, I think she thought I was crazy, but then showed her the engagement shoot and she was blown away by how awful they were) she was the perfect fit and our wedding pictures were amazing! Best wishes!

Instagram post 18094899106110155 Love this little awkward family of mine ❤😆 my poor dog still has his cone, Nate looks angry, Liam just wants to eat his sucker in peace and I'm just trying to take a family photo 🤦‍♀️ On the plus side, Chewy is finally acting like himself again, besides constantly trying to get his cone off. Hopefully just a few more days of the cones and eye medicine!🤞 •

Instagram post 17897563264413871 We kept to our tradition and cut down a christmas tree yesterday. First time we weren't trudging through the snow and I have to admit, it made for an easier hike. Especially because I had to carry our dog the entire way (he is wearing a cone!🙈) and this was the first hike Nate has done since breaking his leg. We kept it slow and steady and took our time finding the tree. And though it all felt so different this year, one thing stayed the same... our old thermos filled with yummy hot cocoa! A reward we treat ourselves with back at the car after hunting for the perfect tree. For #mommytipmondays today I want to remind you that those little traditions you share with your children are so important. Those little things, even just sharing a cup of cocoa together, are making childhood memories they'll remember. They won't remember what they're wearing or if it was picture-perfect. They'll remember belly laughing with you in the back of the car because you spilled cocoa all over yourself🙈😆 For more mommy chat and tips head to >> @vicki_wootton @jenniferedewaard @thecashells @whitneykroneberger @maddie.dear @the_deeply_rooted @twinjamjam , @according.to.d.blog @brittany.marie.wilson

Instagram post 17867576599551943 The Thanksgiving table is set with my grandmother's china and a dried arrangement I made at work.( Since it's all dried I didn't need to soak the oasis foam and I can use this again next year!) The bird is in the oven, I've set out the sparkling cider and I have everything chopped and prepped to throw together in a bit. So far #winning at Thanksgiving this year🙌😆 Now let's see how this Turkey turns out. 🤞 Hoping you all have a beautiful day spent with friends and family ! I am beyond thankful to each and every one of you that has supported my blog and engaged with me on this platform and I wanted to say thank you!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!🥂
